How to Add a Calendar to Notion
Three answers, and the first is the one most people need. Notion already has a calendar: any database with a date property can be viewed as one, and it is a real view rather than a picture of one. If the events live somewhere else, that service's own share link goes straight into an /embed block. We do not build a calendar widget.
Use the built in view first
Add a date property, switch the view, done. You click a day, a page opens, you edit it. Nothing embedded comes close, because an embedded calendar cannot read or write your workspace.
Embedding an outside calendar
Google Calendar and most others hand you a public embed link from their own sharing settings. Paste it into an /embed block and it renders. That route goes through Notion, not through us. Two things to know: the calendar has to be shared publicly or the embed comes back empty, and it is read only, so you cannot add an event from inside Notion.
Why we do not build one
A styled month view from us would be a picture, and a picture of a calendar goes stale the day after you make it. What we can do is the furniture around it: a live date from the text widget with (day) (month) (year), a header above the calendar, a divider separating it from what comes next.

Calendars in other tools
If a shared calendar is central to how you work, this is one area where Notion is genuinely behind. Coda handles calendar formulas more comfortably, and ClickUp treats scheduling as a first class feature rather than a database view.
Notion Calendar exists as a separate app and connects to a Google account, which covers the personal case without any embedding at all. What it does not do is put the calendar inside a Notion page, which is what most people asking this question actually want.
