Start Free →The reason to use Blocky.so is the charts. Point one at a Notion database and it draws a bar, line, area, pie or radar chart that keeps up as the data changes. Nothing we build does that and nothing we build is going to. The rest of the catalogue runs to 18 widget types across 61 style variants: pomodoros, stopwatches, world clocks, flashcards, habit heatmaps, mood trackers, a dice roller.
To draw a live chart, Blocky.so has to be connected to your Notion workspace with read access to your pages, databases and blocks. That is inherent in the feature and it is no criticism of them. A chart cannot plot a database it is not allowed to read. It does mean installing it is a decision about access, and that decision belongs to whoever owns the workspace.
thePlus.so never connects to Notion. Image, Text and Announcement widgets are built in our editor and embedded as a URL, so there is no integration to approve and nothing of yours for us to read. Much less power, and a much shorter conversation with whoever asks what you plugged into the company workspace.
The permission a chart has to ask for
Blocky.so charts work by connecting to your Notion workspace through the official API, with read access to pages, databases and blocks. There is no version of a live chart that skips this step. Whether it matters depends entirely on what your workspace holds. For a personal habit tracker it is a shrug. For a workspace carrying client work, contracts, salaries or anything under an NDA, it is a question you will end up answering for somebody else. thePlus.so avoids the question by being unable to ask it: our widgets are built in our editor, embedded as a URL, and have no route into your Notion at all. That is a genuine ceiling on what we can build, and it is also why the security review takes about a minute.
Widgets that compute against widgets that present
The two catalogues barely touch. Everything Blocky.so makes performs an operation: a chart aggregates, a pomodoro counts down, a habit heatmap accumulates, a dice roller randomises. Everything we make presents something you wrote or uploaded, with control over how it looks doing it. Most dashboards want both halves. The sixty odd widgets Blocky.so ships will not give you a header set in your own typeface, and our three will not give you a bar chart. Working out which half of your page is actually broken is the whole decision here.
What we could not find on their pricing
Blocky.so lists three tiers in a section of its homepage: free, $3.59, and $5.99 for unlimited widgets and charts. There is no separate pricing page, and we could not find a billing period stated next to those figures anywhere on the site, nor a yearly plan, nor a pay once option. It is almost certainly monthly. The point is that a buyer should not have to infer it, because the gap between $5.99 a month and $5.99 a year is the gap between roughly $216 and $18 across three years. Our figures are $6 a month, $60 a year, or $149 once, and what those add up to on our side is published at /open.
Where Blocky.so is the better pick
A comparison page that only flatters its author is not worth reading. Here is the honest side.

Does thePlus.so connect to my Notion workspace?
No. Our widgets are built in our own editor and embedded as a URL, so we never request access to your pages, databases or blocks, and nothing in your workspace is readable by us. Blocky.so charts do need that access, because a live chart has to read the database it plots.
Is Blocky.so cheaper than thePlus.so?
At entry, yes. Their Standard tier is $3.59 and Pro is $5.99, against our $6 a month. We could not find a billing period published beside those prices, and there is no yearly or lifetime option on their side, so a long run cost comparison is not something either of us can do honestly at the moment.
Can thePlus.so build charts from my Notion database?
No, and we have no plans to. We build Image, Text and Announcement widgets. For charts driven by live Notion data, Blocky.so does exactly that and is listed in Notion's own integration gallery.
Can I use both?
Yes. They fill different parts of a page. Their charts and trackers handle the data, ours handle the header, the images and the announcements. Neither interferes with the other, and you can drop either one without disturbing the rest of the page.
